Things worth knowing before you go
Do this one first
If you have not driven in India before, this is the drive to start with. Wide road, predictable traffic, and short enough that a mistake costs you nothing. Do Kumbhalgarh on day two, not day one.
Phones stay outside at Shrinathji
No phones or cameras inside the Nathdwara temple, and the cloakroom queue is slow. Leave them in the car.
Parking at Nathdwara is a scrum
The lots nearest the temple fill by mid-morning. Park at the outer lot and walk the extra six minutes rather than circling.
