Documents you need
What to bring, why we ask for it, and what happens to it afterwards.
If you hold an Indian licence
- A valid driving licence, and one photo ID.
- Minimum age 21, with at least one year of driving experience.
- Verification runs through DigiLocker, which checks directly against the Ministry of Road Transport's Sarathi records. It takes seconds and we never handle a physical photocopy.
If you are visiting India
- Your home-country driving licence, valid and unexpired.
- An International Driving Permit. We require this without exception, even where your licence is already in English — police, insurers and our partner fleets all expect it, and a claim is considerably harder without one.
- Your passport and a valid visa.
- Foreign documents are reviewed by a person rather than an automated check, usually within the hour. Upload them when you book rather than on the morning of pick-up.
What happens to your documents
- They are stored encrypted, used only for verification and any legally required record, and never shared with a partner fleet beyond confirming that you are cleared to drive.
- We keep them for the period required by law and then delete them.
- We do not keep photocopies in a folder behind a desk. This is the single most common way renters in India get exposed to identity theft.
