Things worth knowing before you go
Avoid the Kumbhalgarh ghat in heavy rain
The climb is fine in drizzle and unpleasant in a downpour — poor visibility, standing water on the switchbacks and occasional rockfall on the middle section. Save it for a dry window.
Check the tyres, genuinely

Mornings are drier than afternoons
Udaipur's monsoon rain skews to late afternoon and evening. Plan driving before two and sitting somewhere with a view after.
